Why a Peri Bottle?
Wiping after birth can feel VERY uncomfortable, for the first couple of weeks. So you will want to use a Peri Bottle to help soothe and clean down there. Just fill it with warm or cold water, and after you pee give the area a good spray. For bowel movements, we recommend using wipes.
What is a Sitz Bath?
A soothing soak that aids in postpartum recovery and hemmoroid treatment. These baths can provide relief to discomfort and sore muscles after birth. To use in your bath, just fill with a few inches of water and add the salt soaking for 15-20 minutes. We love this one because it is made with natural ingredients, is paraben free, and made in the USA.
Disposable Underwear
For those first few weeks, these just feel comfortable. They give you extra protection, you don’t have to worry about any leaking on them, and I even felt like I could get a few washes out of them before throwing them away making them last twice as long!
What are Tucks?
Tucks are a godsend postpartum. They will help relieve any itching or burning you may experience down there. Wether you experience hemorrhoids or not, line a clean pad with these and wear them around for a while and see what a difference they can make.
Lots and lots of pads!
Wether you experience a vaginal or cesarian delivery, you WILL experience postpartum bleeding. While there are plenty of brands out there, we found that certain ones can just start to feel uncomfortable when you are wearing them for long periods of time. Annie found herself loving these the most, they were soft & absorbent, not causing any more irritation to an already sensitive area. Check out these, for even more absorbent and overnight protection.
What is Perennial Spray?
A touch-free peri care! This spray has cooling witch hazel and cucumber along with organic essential oils for refreshing postpartum relief both before and after vaginal delivery. Great for perineal swelling, tearing, or hemorrhoids. Pro-tip, let the bottle sit in your refrigerator to cool or spray a pad with it and freeze it before wearing.
Padsicles!
If you have a vaginal delivery, you will experience swelling in your perineum. In order to help that swelling go down, relieve any sore muscles, and help with pain management you will want add cooling to that area. These are a great way to do that without a lot of effort. You can totally make your own padsicle, a quick google search will give you a few options on how to do so.
Nipple Covers
We know many moms who SWEAR by these. Did you know your breastmilk has it’s own healing properties? All you have to do is express a little milk into the cover after you feed and place them over your tired nipples. The silver and your breastmilk will provide relief without any creams. And when your journey ends, they have a recycling program that will turn into into a keepsake piece of jewelry for you!
Nipple Butter
For those embarking on a breastfeeding journey, this is a MUST. Nipple butter will help soothe and moisturize your nipples. The great thing about this product is that you can just place it on your nipple after feeding and leave it on. No worrying about wiping it off between feedings because everything in it is safe for baby. I went through a couple of these!
