Annie is a master of science in occupational therapy, specializing in pediatric & perinatal pelvic health. She studied sociology at Whitman College and then completed her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy at Washington University in St. Louis.
She started her career as a pediatric occupational therapist, working at children’s hospitals and outpatient clinics. Her passion for pelvic health sparked when she realized how few resources there are to help children with bowel and bladder dysfunction, leading her to specialize in pediatric bowel and bladder disorders.
In 2021, she and her husband welcomed their first little one into the world, and- like many people- she experienced her own pelvic floor dysfunction (hello prolapse & leaking). This fueled her passion for pelvic health even further, and she completed additional training to encompass treating pregnant and postpartum people.
Two kids later, Annie is well-versed in both pediatric and perinatal pelvic health. She uses her personal experience and professional skills to collaborate with clients to treat and prevent pelvic floor dysfunction in both women and children. She utilizes her expertise in manual therapy, corrective exercise, pediatric development, and holistic techniques to meet women and children where they are and guide them toward optimal pelvic health.
As a mom who has two littles that struggle with constipation, she knows first hand the challenges a family can face. Her true passion lies in helping families understand how get to the root cause of what is going on and guide their children into good habits for a lifetime of optimal pelvic health. She loves to treat kids with urinary and fecal incontinence, withholding, constipation, bedwetting, potty training difficulties and pelvic girdle pain. She loves helping children achieve and maintain bowel and bladder health throughout childhood and beyond.
For women, having given birth twice, she enjoys helping women prepare for both the physical & emotional parts of becoming a mom. Commonly treated conditions for women include pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti, pain with sex, pelvic girdle pain, constipation, and urinary & fecal incontinence. She also loves working with women throughout their entire pregnancy and postpartum journey, preparing them for birth and faster recoveries. With a background in running, she specializes in helping women return to all forms of low and high intensity exercise.
Beyond her love for learning about all things pelvic health, she is a mom to two little active boys, an avid runner, and lover of all things chocolate. She loves providing holistic, evidence based, and individualized care. Her favorite thing to do is empower women and children to OWN their healing and she looks forward to working with you and your family soon.
